A Website as Bold and Unapologetic as Her Copy
Vanessa Wilde, founder of Vanessa Wilde & Co.,is a copywriter who helps coaches and course creators increase their revenue and ditch the sales calls through powerful, personality-driven website and sales page copy.
When Vanessa reached out to Carbon & Clay, she already had a website on Squarespace but it didn’t feel like her. It was functional, but lacked the bold, edgy, punk-rock energy that defines her brand and voice. She wanted a design that stopped the scroll and made a statement that felt as bold as the words she writes.
What We Created Together
We started with a collaborative strategy call, diving deep into Vanessa’s creative direction, ideal audience, and brand personality. She came to the table with inspiration brands, tone words, and a clear desire for something unconventional that broke the mold of “soft and feminine” designs that dominate the online space.
From there, we built her brand and website from the ground up:
Brand Strategy & Moodboard Development — Co-created a visual direction through Pinterest collaboration, choosing colors, textures, and typography that embodied boldness and confidence.
Logo Wordmark Design — Crafted a sleek, impactful logo that felt elevated and unmistakably Vanessa.
Custom Squarespace Website Redesign — Designed a striking website built entirely within Squarespace, transforming her existing site into a fully branded digital experience.
Copy Integration & Layout Strategy — Integrated her own expertly written copy, ensuring layout and flow matched her storytelling style and conversion goals.
SEO Setup & Optimization — Implemented basic SEO best practices, including metadata, alt text, and keyword-friendly page titles.
Visual Identity Upgrade — Carried her bold brand colors and typographic style across all pages for a cohesive look.
Once the homepage mockup was approved (without any revisions!), we moved into a seamless build phase, bringing her vision to life page by page.

The Result
