WordPress Web Design and Copywriting for Faith-Based Nonprofit: Hands of Compassion International
Client: Hands of Compassion International
Project Type: Wordpress Web Design + Website Copywriting + Messaging Strategy
Industry: Faith-Based Nonprofit, International Missions and Humanitarian Care
About the Client
Hands of Compassion International is a volunteer-run, faith-based nonprofit serving vulnerable children and elderly in India for over 30 years. Their work focuses on long-term, relationship-driven care through education, housing, daily support, and Gospel-rooted presence.
With decades of faithful service behind them, Hands of Compassion needed website messaging that reflected who they truly are. Honest, relational, and deeply committed to staying when others cannot. Their existing copy carried heart, but it needed clarity, structure, and a donor-focused flow that could build trust and encourage sustainable support.
About the Project
Hands of Compassion came to us with a clear need. They wanted a website that told their story simply and truthfully, without pressure or polish that felt misaligned with their mission.
They needed messaging that could:
Clearly explain how they serve children and elderly in India
Communicate why education, especially English-medium education, is central to their work
Build donor trust through transparency and longevity
Invite donations and partnerships without guilt or urgency
Our role was to shape their existing story into clear, conversion-ready website copy while preserving their grounded, faith-filled voice.

What We Created Together
Website Copywriting
We rewrote and refined core website pages to clearly communicate Hands of Compassion’s mission, approach, and impact. The copy focuses on simplicity, honesty, and real-world outcomes rather than nonprofit jargon.
Messaging Strategy
We clarified their positioning around long-term relationships, zero overhead, and education-first care. This ensured donors immediately understood what makes Hands of Compassion different from larger organizations.
Donation-Focused Language
We incorporated gentle, action-driven calls to give that feel natural and respectful, meeting readers where they are and inviting support without pressure.
Storytelling Framework
We organized their history, values, and impact into a cohesive narrative that builds trust over time and keeps visitors engaged longer on the site.
The Process
This project centered on listening first. We worked closely with the Hands of Compassion team to understand their history, partnerships in India, and the heart behind their work. Rather than rewriting their mission, we focused on translating it into language that felt clear, grounded, and donor-ready.
Every section was intentionally structured to guide readers through:
The challenge they see
How they respond
Why their approach works
How supporters can get involved
The result was messaging that felt aligned, not manufactured.
The Result
The updated Hands of Compassion website now reflects the depth and integrity of their work.
Visitors can easily understand:
How donations are used
Why education is central to breaking generational poverty
How elderly care restores dignity and community
What makes their volunteer-run model unique
The site now supports longer engagement, clearer donor pathways, and more confident giving. Most importantly, it feels true to who Hands of Compassion is and has always been.
Purpose-Driven Copy That Builds Trust
At Carbon & Clay, we help nonprofits and service-driven organizations communicate their work with clarity, honesty, and heart. We believe good copy doesn’t pressure people to give. It helps them understand why the work matters.
If you’re ready to align your message with your mission and invite support with confidence, we’d love to help.
